I am originally from Suffolk County, Long Island, NY and now reside in Long Island City, Queens, NYC!
I was supporting my friend during the birth of her second child and I was so in love with the entire process - witnessing the miracles our biological machines can perform. I knew right then and there that I needed to work within the field of birth work!
I do not actively have any specific specializes related to newborn care . However, I am always open to expanding my education and specialties.
My favorite part about working with new families is all about the developmental bond. The bond I will acquire with them, the bond they will acquire together as parents, a family, partners. It is so rewarding!
I wish I knew why Doula's aren't advertised enough?! So many woman find such ideal support and relief while having a Doula, yet not enough woman are open or even aware to what a Doula is and how she/he can benefit your journey(s)!
1) An abundance of diapers,
2) Soft swaddle blankets,
3) Breast pump or feeding system,
4) Trustworthy Formula,
5) Coconut oil for chapped nipples and stretch marks!
I hope to deliver a sense of safety and comfort to my clients and their birthing space. I wish to encourage all woman to find their voice and confidence to conquer their ideal birth experience.
I am also a chef and educator, so I really do love cooking, practicing/teaching yoga, meditation, reiki/energy healing. I am also actively trying to grow my very own urban garden on my balcony, so planting and bonding with Mother Nature is a huge part of fueling my everyday happiness!
Oooh, that's a tough one. Right now I am reading "Why Did No One Tell Me This" - which is an honest guide for expecting parents and Doula's - by Natalia Hailes and Ash Spivak. The context is blunt, informative and genuine, also written by Doulas! As for favorite author, hands down Nakita Gill - she's so inspirational. My favorite movie/show is (sorry, not sorry) Game Of Thrones. I have probably watched it three to four times and have contemplated on watching it again in the near future. I don't have a favorite band, but my go-to genre lately has been Indie-pop. Something vibey, uplifting but chill.
An ode to fearless woman defined by no man, you are your own story blazing through the world, turning history into her story and when they dare to tell you about all the things you cannot be, you smile and tell them "I am both war and woman and you cannot stop me". - Nakita Gill
To bring world peace to all of our living beings and our beautiful blue planet, Earth!
When I was a little girl, my Grandmother and Great Aunt would always say how I was a old, Bohemian-soul. I was, for as long as I can recall, very different from other kids my age. I preferred to spend time with wise adults, animals or nature... Here, now twenty-six years old and embarking my path as a Holistic Doula - Forever the little, old, Bohemian-soul lives within me!
