Where are you originally from and why did you become a doula?

Norfolk, MA. I realized after having children, that there is a real lack of support that women receive, especially during the postpartum period. As someone who has experienced childbirth twice and had PPD & PPA myself, I am passionate about changing the support women receive.

Do you specialize in a particular area of newborn care?

Postpartum depression, anxiety & OCD

What do you enjoy about working with new families and newborns?

Knowing that I am making their life easier during this new transition.

Tell us a little about your educational background. What degrees or certifications/training do you have?

BA in Clinical Psychology. Certified birth and postpartum & infant care doula

If there was one thing you wish everyone knew about doulas (birth or postpartum), what would it be?

The goal of a doula is to support the client, the client's family, and their birth plan - judgement free and whatever that may be.

How would you characterize your approach to newborn care and working with new mothers?

Compassion, empathy, nonjudgmental support, listening, and patience

What do you enjoy outside of Doula work?

Spending time with my husband and 2 children, golfing, being outside, and vacationing in Maine and Cape Cod.
