Meet Hadassah- DMV Team

Where are you originally from and why did you become a doula?

I am a proud Bronx native who currently resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia with my husband and teenage daughter.

The first time I learned that Black mothers in NYC were 3x more likely to die from complications related to childbirth (read as systemic racism), it broke my heart. Since then, the number has risen to 12!

Consequently, I found an inclusive doula agency that prepared me to support marginalized birthing individuals. I trained to become a Full Spectrum Doula.  In an effort to provide the most overall support for my clients I also became a Certified Placenta Encapsulator, as well as a Lamaze trained Childbirth Educator.
